Foothills of Lâm Hà

Throughout the second day with the Family, we explored the surrounding farms in the foothills of Lâm Hà Commune, the district Elon Farm resides in. The Commune’s mineral rich soil make it favourable to Agriculture the main industry.  The primary products of the region that we got from some of the local farms include  Mulberries used by the local silk industry, peppers, tea and of course lots of Coffee.

As we visited the different farm plots in the valley, we learned about the physical differences between Robusta and Arabica at a plant level. In person the differences are very noticeable. To start they are physically smaller and proportionally more narrow while having a more pronounced vein structure compared to their arabica counterparts. In the hand they feel more robust lending to its name Robusta.
