Bean to Cup

In 2024 me and my partner toured Vietnam for 3 Weeks starting up north in Hanoi and working our way South to Ho-Chi Minh City. The highlight for me was the rich and strong Coffee Culture and how rooted it is in Vietnamese society.

It starts with finding a place to enjoy a brew. You have the typical suspects of chain cafes for something quick, specialty cafes for a trendy drink from speciality roasters and arguably the most unique is the sidewalk cafes. Watch the world go by slowly in a less commercialized setting in the company of those that you are with. Its central to Vietnamese coffee culture.

The brews are varied from the staple coffee with condensed milk to the unique Egg Coffee. The common denominator and what makes coffee stand out is the Robusta Bean, a low acidic more bitter coffee that is cultivated largely in Vietnam. As we are in a Country that not just loves coffee but produces coffee, it was on my bucket list to visit a Coffee Farm and get closer to the food staple I love.
